TND Alert: Liberia’s Capital, Monrovia Shutdowns, Residents on the Edge

Residents of Liberia’s capital, Monrovia are on the edge as the city is shutdown and the streets are quiet as a self-declared working holiday is being observed by businesses, schools, and even the government as many government employees stayed away from work embracing for a potential protest which they fear could spiral out of hand.

According to one government who herself stayed away from work, said the entire city is quiet and people are just standing around street corners and business is business paralyzed but the government employee says there is huge police presence in the capital but  they fear the worst yet to come when President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf arrives into the country later this evening.
