Middle, Mulbah Morlu in Court
Reports from the Liberian capital, Monrovia just in say demonstration has broken out after Mr Mulbah Morlu, one of the leaders of the Ellen Step Down Campaign and ten others were charged with sedition today. The demonstration broke out at the court when Mr Morlu and the ten others appeared in court to hear their charges.
Mr. Morlu and the others were arrested and Tuesday Wednesday respectively. According to the New York Times, Police Director Chris Massaqoui said Mr. Morlu was arrested to driving around telling the public, President Sirleaf has resigned.
Mr Morlu is one of the members of a network of civil society groupings under the umbrella, “Ellen Step Down Campaign”, which stage a protest on Wednesday, calling for the resignation of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.
The entire Liberian capital shutdown Wednesday for fear of the protest going out of hand and spilling trouble.
