Liberia’s opposition leader of the Congress for Democratic Change-CDC and soccer icon, George Weah has tendered his resignation and quits President Ellen Johnson–Sirleaf’s government has resigned his Liberian Peace Ambassador post. The details prompting the former Peace Ambassador’s resignation are yet to be made public but source close to the party alerted this entity that the opposition leader impromptu resignation come as the result of partisans’ threat to expel their leader and standard Bearer if he did not quit the government.
