It is imminent that Gambia President Yahya Jammeh days are over as the regional West African force, ECOMOG is poised to moving into the Gambia by early Thursday morning to eject the Gambian leader from power and inaugurate President-Elect, Adama Barrow who won the country’s election last December and was suppose to be inaugurated as President on Thursday.
The Gambian leader has refused to leave power after initially accepting the election result which real estate developer Adama Barrow but few days later rejected claiming irregularities.
The West African regional group, ECOWAS has given the President until midnight to leave power, the official end of his presidency or be ejected from the Presidency and President-Elect, Adama Barrow inaugurated President of the Gambia.
The West African regional bloc has already issued already to its military arm, ECOWAS to move into Gambia and oust President Jammeh.
The Mauritanian President Mohammed Ould Abdel ziz landed in the Banjul, the Gambia capital late Wednesday evening in a last minute diplomatic effort to encourage the defiant Gambian leader to leave power (news from Gambian media said). The Gambian media is reporting President Jammeh’s plane is packed on the Tarmac on the Gambian airport and that order has been given to clear the airport, a sign which the Gambian press reporting is signal that President Jammeh leave the country on board the plane.
